Colin Brookes has joined SAP Australia as chief operating officer after a three-year stint working in the same role for the vendor in the UK and Ireland.
He replaces former Australian COO Jim Fisher, who resigned in October last year, along with managing director John Ruthven, to pursue new opportunities outside SAP. Ruthven was replaced by Stephen Moore, who was previously APJ head of services sales.
“As we continue to help our customers digitise and grow in Australia and New Zealand, Colin brings invaluable experience to the COO role," Moore said. "We look forward to the outstanding achievements he and his team will deliver.”
Brookes was chief operating officer for SAP UK and Ireland for three years before taking the Australian role. Prior to that, he was senior president for Software AG across APJ. He has also held executive leadership roles with FormScape Software, Knowledge Support Systems and CA Technologies.
In his new role, Brookes will be responsible for leading SAP's sales-support infrastructure and strategy in Australia and New Zealand.
Brookes said there were many similarities between Australia, the UK and Ireland as new markets underpinned by cloud technologies.
“In a now often cloud-first if not cloud-only world, I look forward to leading a team that enables our customers to succeed in their digital innovation journeys,” he said.
