After three years' as the company's local managing director, Choi will return to Samsung's Korean HQ, to head up a newly created department within Home Appliance.
His replacement, Yoon joined Samsung in 1987.
During his 22 year career he gained experience across a wide range of functions ranging from sales and marketing to finance and product planning.
Recently, Yoon held the position of VP at Mobile Device Division in Korea with responsibility for North America.
Lambro Skropidis, head of corporate marketing, Samsung Electronics Australia said Choi has provided Samsung Australia with leadership and strategy.
"Our company has never been in a stronger position in Australia and he leaves behind a legacy which we will continue to build on with the arrival of," he said.
"We thank Choi for his exceptional contribution, and congratulate him on this exciting new opportunity.
"We wish him every success for the future and look forward to welcoming Yoon shortly."
Yoon will officially join Samsung Australia on 10 August.
