Samsung ad attacks Apple Maps

Samsung has taken the opportunity to have a dig at main rival Apple, following a customer backlash to Apple's new Maps application seen in the iPhone 5.

Apple has been slammed by users for ditching Google Maps in its latest smartphone for its own mapping service based on TomTom data. The criticism was such that earlier this month Apple CEO Tim Cook was forced to apologise for the error-ridden application, which according to users contained geographical errors and gaps in information and lacked features including public transit directions to traffic data and street-view pictures.

Samsung today took the opportunity to capitalise on Apple's misfortune by running a full-page advertistment the UK newspaper The Times, claiming "you always know where you are with Samsung".

It's not the first time Samsung has taken a direct dig at its competitor. Samsung's advertisement for the Galaxy S III said "it doesn't take a genius" - referencing Apple's 'Genius' retail employees.
