RAD Israeli vendor gets Integrity

Specialist wireless distributor Integrity Data Systems (IDS) has signed to sell carrier-class access products from Israeli vendor RAD Data Communications in the Australian market.

The deal will focus on RAD's AirMux wireless offerings, the vendor said in a statement.

"RAD's AirMux range of wireless multiplexers will enable Integrity Data Systems to deliver point-to-point wireless solutions with double the throughput at existing prices," RAD claimed.

Demand for point-to-point wireless had "boomed" in the past year, the company said, as alternatives to leasing short-haul lines from Telstra for multi-site computer networks.

The company therefore expected AirMux to prove popular with large organisations, such as corporations and government, it said.

Ross Chiswell, CEO at Adelaide-based IDS, said the deal would take effect from this month.

"We've sold hundreds of similar products during the past year," Chiswell said. "The ability of AirMux to deliver twice the throughput at the same price will enable our resellers to offer wireless solutions that have a much faster return on investment."

Udi Furman, general manager at RAD Data Australia, said signing IDS would get RAD's products to the market more quickly and into "previously unexplored" areas.

RAD claims to offer a suite of access products "engineered" to help wireless operators use their wireless networks more efficiently and add extra services.

Its products also promised cellular backhauling, hotspot backhauling, WISP backhauling and broadband access to corporate markets, RAD claimed.

The company's installed base numbered around eight million units and included about 150 carriers and operators around the world. Customers were supported by 19 RAD offices and some 200 distributors in 105 countries, RAD said.
