Propensity International has announced it will offer Siemens’ OpenScape unified communications product as a hosted service from next year under a deal announced today.
It was the first commercial hosting agreement to be signed in Australia for the software, according to Siemens’ enterprise communications group.
A spokesman for Propensity was unavailable for comment at the time of publication.
OpenScape includes enterprise-grade voice services, unified messaging, video conferencing and role-based unified communications applications.
“What businesses don’t realise is the cost of equipment such as a PABX doesn’t end at the purchase point. From that moment on, they have to cater for upgrades and maintenance costs that can equal to as much as 30 percent of the purchase price every year. Having a hosted offering eliminates the initial set-up cost as well as the ongoing support cost,” Propensity’s managing director Paul Davidson said in a statement.
The product is being launched to Siemens’ dealer channel from today and is expected to be offered to the market from the start of next year.
Propensity also holds partner agreements with Microsoft, IBM and NEC.
