Geotab has launched Geotab Investigations, a unified incident management solution designed to help fleet safety, compliance and operations teams resolve road incidents faster and reduce liability costs.

The solution draws on existing telematics data to give fleet managers a consolidated view of vehicle and driver behaviour before, during and after an incident. Geotab said the platform replaces what it described as a typically manual and fragmented investigation process that can expose organisations to operational, legal and reputational risk.

Geotab Investigations includes a location and time-based incident search, event timeline reconstruction combining trips, driver behaviour, speed events and location data, and a structured case workflow with stages from open to closed.

Teams can attach external materials - notes, emails, reports, documents, photos and video - alongside telematics data to build a complete record for each case.

The company said the centralised workflow is intended to produce consistent, defensible decision-making supported by time-aligned records, which can be used for insurance claims, compliance requirements and internal review. Geotab also said drivers stand to benefit when accurate data is used to determine fault, reducing the risk of incorrect blame.

"Across Asia Pacific, fleets are managing increasingly complex safety, compliance and operational requirements, making it critical to have accurate information available when an incident occurs," said David Brown, associate vice president of sales, APAC at Geotab.

"Geotab Investigations brings critical data together in one place, giving fleet managers a clearer picture of what happened and the insights they need to resolve incidents faster, support their drivers and make informed decisions."

The launch extends Geotab's existing connected operations and video telematics portfolio into structured case management, targeting fleet organisations that regularly handle collisions, customer complaints, property damage and safety violations involving multiple internal and external stakeholders.
