The gigabit Ethernet switches have been added to the ProCurve 2510 series and have been designed for small businesses with fewer than 50 employees.
ProCurve’s new 2510G-24 includes 20 fixed 10/100/1000 Ethernet ports and 4 modular dual-personality ports, and has a list price of AUD$1149.
Meanwhile, the 2510G-48 has a list price of $2093, and includes 44 fixed 10/100/1000 Ethernet ports and 4 modular dual-personality ports.
Both switches feature simple installation, small form factors, web based configuration, and ProCurve Management software.
Other features such as troubleshooting, traffic prioritisation, support for virtual LANs, and performance monitoring also are included as standard, and software updates are provided free for the life of the product.
To support network scalability, the switches can be grouped together into a virtual stack of up to 16 switches, making it easier to manage the network as it grows.
The switches currently are available in Australia from Ingram Micro and 24/7 Distribution, and in New Zealand from Ingram Micro.
