The distributor's reseller partners descended on ANZ Stadium at Homebush last night to sample the very latest technologies in everything from networking and gaming to printing and storage.
The event showcased products from brands including Intel, Microsoft, Acer, HP, Fuji Xerox, Asus, Epson, D-Link, NetGear and LG.
Vendors used the opportunity to engage with resellers while sharing information on their market strategies and new products that will be hitting the market in the leadup to Christmas.
Eric Chan, territory manager A/NZ at Western Digital, told CRN the event provided a unique opportunity to interact with resellers.
“A lot of people can come here and touch our products compared to seeing them on the shelves. It's good to have a one-to-one conversation with our resellers and create a relationship, so in future if they have anything they want to ask they can come to us directly," he said.
Reseller feedback was also positive, with comments by Susan Lan, general manager of Excel Computers, typical of attendee sentiment.
“We come every year. It’s been great to see the vendors. Normally you only contact the distributors so its great to be here and be able to talk about new products."
CRN provided a welcome break from the business side of things with the interactive GameZone where attendees competed in a virtual football tournament to win an Asus laptop. Competitors battled it out through a series of eliminator rounds, with Joe Ayoub from Citrex eventually taking the prize.
The Sydney event was the third in a series of roadshows for resellers and retailers interested in finding out more about Synnex's offerings.
The final Alliance show will be held in Melbourne on the 11th September.
