NSW Police have charged three men with stealing more than $2 million in electronic goods in a crime spree across Sydney and the Central Coast.
Last month, detectives from the Robbery and Serious Crime Squad established Strike Force Buttre in order to investigate break-ins at retail stores and commercial properties across the state.
CRN understands JB Hi-Fi, The Good Guys and Bing Lee stores were affected.
The strike force executed search warrants in Rooty Hill, Wetherill Park and Mt Druitt yesterday, arresting three men aged 25, 30 and 35, who were taken to local police stations.
During their search, police recovered more than $500,000 in allegedly stolen goods, seizing 100 mobile phones, watches, headphones, tablets, televisions, cameras, power tools and other electronic goods.
The 25-year-old and 35-year-old were both charged with four counts of aggravated break and enter to commit a serious indictable offence. They were both refused bail to appear in court today.
The 30-year-old was charged with five counts of receive/dispose stolen property, and goods suspected stolen in/on premises. He was granted strict conditional bail and is due to appear in court next month.
NSW Police said that Strike Force Buttre's investigations are continuing, and it expects to make further arrests.
