Netskope seeks to expand Federal Govt portfolio with new appointment

Secure access service edge (SASE company Netskope said it has appointed Nathan Strong as client partner, federal government.

Strong has been working with Australian Federal Government agencies for close to 25 years, Netskope said.

He joins from software company Pegasystems where he was the regional director for consulting, for Australia and New Zealand.

In his new role, Strong will manage and expands Netskope's Federal Government portfolio in Australia, and support agencies strengthening their cybersecurity resilience.

Prior to Netskope and Pega, Strong held senior roles at Palantir, Verizon and Hewlett-Packard.

Netskope said Strong started his career as a draftsman for the Department of Foreign Affairs and Trade (DFAT) where he joined the IT team.

He spent the seven years at DFAT and other Federal departments as an IT officer.

“It’s critical we continue strengthening the security posture of our Government, and as the day-to-day consumption of IT changes, I believe Netskope’s SASE solution portfolio provides the strongest end-to-end security proposition for government agencies,” said Strong said.

“My focus is to make advanced cybersecurity capabilities easy to consume for government agencies, and ensure that ongoing operations provide exceptional results, with the right technology investments made. I believe Netskope is the right place at this stage of my career to do that," he added.

Netskope pointed to what it said is its significant investment in Australia the past decade, expanding its global private cloud network NewEdge to include six private data centres, five data planes, and one management plane across the country.

This lead to to a successful IRAP assessment in 2021, Netskope said.

The local network infrastructure enables close to 40 federal, state and local government agencies to use Netskope to their metadata onshore in Australia, meet their cybersecurity along with their data sovereignty needs.
