Following the announcement of a Product Supply Agreement between Telstra and NetComm – for the provision of broadband routers – NetComm has also agreed to develop and deliver 3G solutions and devices for Telstra.
David Stewart, managing director at NetComm, said Telstra Turbo 7 Series Wireless Gateway and Bigpond 7.2 Wireless broadband Network Gateway for use on Telstra’s Next G Network, combine Next G broadband service Wi-Fi and Ethernet.
“Embedded in both devices is Sierra Wireless 3G module, which can deliver download speeds of 550kpbs to 3Mbps, bursting to speeds of 6Mpbs in selected areas,” claimed Stewart. “It also delivers upload speeds averaging around 300kbps to 1Mpbs, bursting up to 1.3Mpbs.”
Turbo 7 Series Wireless Gateway product will be available to the market from the 25 July, while no product release date has been announced for the Bigpond 7.2 Wireless broadband Network Gateway, said Stewart.
