Communications gear vendor NetComm has appointed Hitech Distribution as a state-based distributor to strengthen NetComm's presence in South Australia.
The deal gives Hitech Distribution access to a broad range of NetComm products, including ADSL, VoIP, wireless, and networking.
David Stewart, managing director at NetComm, said in a statement that Hitech Distribution would give Netcomm more strength in South Australia.
“Hitech Distribution will give us a local distribution presence that has been lacking in South Australia and will serve to increase the profile of our products," Stewart said.
Stewart said Hitech was a "passionate" company with a strong reseller base.
“Their understanding of the local culture among resellers is an important part of ensuring NetComm becomes a highly recommended product among this group and, ultimately, their end-users," he said.
Ian Vagg, managing director at Hitech Distribution, said NetComm had made some "excellent" products.
"With South Australia being the first state in Australia to adopt ADSL2, NetComm’s ADSL2 compatible products, in particular, will be very popular with resellers and end-users," Vagg claimed.
NetComm's VoIP product range was also a "fantastic" ‘out-of-the-box’ VoIP solution.
"More average households are beginning to adopt VoIP and they want a product that is easy to use and represents great value for money,” Vagg said.
Hitech Distribution is a 15-year-old value-added distributor of software, hardware, peripherals and services.
