Steven Miller, who has served as the interim area VP for ANZ for the last 12 months at Microsoft, has been named the VP and public sector leader for Asia.
Prior to his stint in charge of ANZ, he held such roles at the company as the COO of Asia for three years, COO of ANZ for three years and sales director of the ANZ education segment.
He has also, in a near 20-year career at Microsoft, served as SMB segment leader from the start of 2016 through to midway through 2017, subsequently taking on a year-long position as partner sales segment leader.
In a LinkedIn post, he said the past 12 months has been among the most rewarding of his career.
"To the customers, partners, and colleagues across Australia and New Zealand: thank you. Your ambition and your commitment to serving these remarkable countries better made this a year I'll never forget. I am certain that the best days continue to be ahead of us, and I know that Microsoft is committed to helping that happen," he said.
"Now, I'm genuinely excited by what lies ahead. Across Asia, billions of citizens depend on great government services — for their health, their education, their safety, and their shot at a better future. Behind every one of those services is a nation determined to serve its people while safeguarding its sovereignty in a fast-moving digital world.
"That's the opportunity that inspires me most: bringing the best of Microsoft to help governments across Asia power the potential of their people — securely, responsibly, and on their own terms. I cannot wait to get started, to roll up my sleeves, and to learn from the brilliant teams, customers, and partners right across this incredible region."
In November, Jane Livesey took over as corporate VP and its next MD for ANZ.
