Mhelp selects resellers for its 'help video clips' solution

Originally called Movie Clip Help but then shortened to Mhelp, it consists of short video clips that last between 30 seconds and 2 minutes using a GUI (Graphical Unit Interface).

The company was launched about five years ago and has been working with the R&D team in that time to launch the product.

Mhelp will be targeting consumers, SMB and enterprise through the channel and has already had a lot of interest from customers.

According to Andrew McHenry, general manager for partners and alliances, A/NZ, Mhelp, the application delivers ‘just-in-time’ knowledge to users at their desk through the GUI and ‘help video clips’.

“In our product, we have put the application inside the application itself. Rather than go and find the answer to a problem yourself, we give it to you in a video solution,” said McHenry.

The company, founded by Shayne van Vlerken, who established Ethnic Earth in the mid-90s and created the first strategic alliance partnership with Sun Microsystems for JAVA programming services in SE Asia.

Van Vlerken and McHenry, who previously worked at Insight Enterprises, will be selecting resellers who are already familiar with a vendor-to-reseller model who are looking to enrich their solutions, particularly around Microsoft.

Mhelp wanted to produce Microsoft video-clip content for applications such as Office 2003, 2007 and other applications such as Vista, Window Media Player and Internet Explorer.

The interface is free but for the full suite, users have to pay $59 on an annual subscription basis.

“We are going to launch in Australia this month with a view to taking it to the US and Europe next year," said McHenry.

"We are targeting Microsoft LARs and will be setting up a reseller initiative next year around Q3, in March/April creating some incentives to reward our partners,” he added.
