Facilities management service provider BGIS, on behalf of the Melbourne Market Authority (MMA), has released a tender to replace, monitor and maintain the clustered firewalls at the Epping market site.
There is also a requirement to provide VPN, website filtering and local desktop antivirus/malware protection services for approximately 100 devices, as well as to provide a managed service to monitor, manage and update all services to ASD standards.
The expected length of the services to be provided will be three years.
Melbourne Market is Victoria’s wholesale fruit, vegetable and cut flower trading centre, one of six central fresh produce markets in Australia. Approximately, 2,750 businesses use the Market as a base, buying and selling fresh produce in the early hours of the morning for distribution across Victoria and Australia.
In March 2024, MMA appointed BGIS to perform certain facilities management services for the Melbourne Market. The services are currently maintained under contract via an agreement with a specialist subcontractor managed by BGIS.
