Melbourne carrier Alltel moves from AAPT to Broadsoft partner Access4

Victorian telecommunications provider Alltel is migrating its 1500 business services from AAPT across to Melbourne-based UC-as-a-service provider Access4.

Alltel, which offers business communications solutions to small and medium businesses across Australia, was experiencing issues with the Broadsoft and voice services in place, such as calls being dropped and problems with its call recording system.

It hopes the move to Access4 will bring better service reliability and higher call quality.

Trent Brinsley, general manager at Alltel, said: "We needed a robust solution we can rely on. In this market, customer experience is a key differentiator and we want to deliver the best possible experience for all of our customers."

According to Brinsley, the AAPT call recording services had never worked since being implemented approximately three years ago. "Call recording should be available now, it is an important service for all customers, big or small," Brinsley added.

Access4 will provide its full range of unified communications solutions including its UC-as-a-service and call recording.

"Access4’s solution stood up to testing to ensure quality, and the investment they have made in their systems reduces a huge amount of manual work from our business. This ensures less dependence on key senior engineers to support the business," Brinsley added.

Alltel also needed to offer a service integration between business and mobile. "Access4 has a great range that support mobile," he said.

Alltel will gain access to the provider's support portal, helping with the delivery and management. The migration has already started and is expected to be complete by the end of January 2017.

Access4 sales and marketing director Ruy Franco said: "SME businesses can benefit hugely from unified communications and Alltel has a great service model to support this market segment, one that is typically not served well by the large telcos."

Access4 launched in May 2016 and is present across Australia – Sydney, Melbourne, Canberra and Brisbane – and New Zealand through its partners.
