Myriota adds cellular to HyperPulse satellite IoT network

Myriota has launched hybrid connectivity for its HyperPulse 5G non-terrestrial network (NTN) and AssetHawk asset tracker, combining satellite and cellular IoT in a single device and contract for partners operating across Australia, New Zealand and other markets.

The update adds cellular network support to HyperPulse, which previously relied on satellite connectivity alone. The platform now automatically routes each message across cellular or satellite based on availability and configuration, removing the need for separate providers, contracts or platforms.

Hybrid data plans start at US$0.99 per device per month. The company said combining the two networks lowers the blended cost per message by routing to the least expensive available path.

Myriota said the launch addresses a longstanding commercial barrier in satellite IoT: assets such as trailers on transport corridors, generators rotating between sites and containers moving through ports spend only part of their working life outside terrestrial coverage - enough to require satellite, but not enough to justify satellite-only pricing.

HyperPulse is designed to make hybrid connectivity viable for this broader asset class.

For solution providers and partners, AssetHawk - Myriota's ruggedised, battery-powered asset tracker - is the first device purpose-built for the hybrid HyperPulse network.

It includes BLE sensor integration, effectively turning a single tracker into a localised sensor hub. The device launched in February 2026 across Australia, New Zealand, the United States, Canada, Brazil, Argentina, Mexico and Saudi Arabia.

"For decades, vast numbers of remote and distributed operational assets have remained disconnected - not because the technology didn't exist, but because the economics never worked," said Ben Cade, chief executive at Myriota.

"HyperPulse changes that equation. For the first time, it's commercially viable to connect almost any asset, anywhere, for less than a dollar per month."

HyperPulse is compliant with 3GPP Release 17 standards and compatible with standards-based silicon. The network currently covers Australia, New Zealand, the US, Mexico, Argentina, Brazil and Saudi Arabia, with additional markets planned for later this year.
