Melbourne AWS partner Nebulr acquired by UK-based Contino

Melbourne-based Nebulr has been acquired by devops and cloud transformation consultancy Contino for an undisclosed amount.

As part of the deal, Nebulr chief executive Craig Howe will take on the managing director for Contino Asia Pacific role, and its 50-person staff will join Contino’s Australian business as well.

Like Nebulr, Contino is also an AWS partner, whose clients include Barclays, Tesco, William Hill and Concur, and has offices in London, the United States and in Sydney and Melbourne.

It has more than 200 staff across all locations, with 65 staff based in Australia including those coming over from Nebulr.

“Contino’s global footprint and considerable IP and experience set them apart in the world of devops,” Craig Howe said.

“I founded Nebulr with a vision of creating an amazing engineering culture that delivers first-class work and I see this as a fantastic opportunity for us to push the boundaries of this vision yet further.”

Last year, Nebulr helped the owner of Priceline and Soul Pattinson Chemists Australian Pharmaceutical Industries to transfer its billion-dollar MyAPI e-commerce portal to AWS.

Nebulr is a finalist in the upcoming CRN Impact Awards, with the above-mentioned project in the running for the 'Customer Experience' award.
