Leaked roadmap reveals RIM releases

RIM will launch only one new device this year ahead of its new BlackBerry 10 platform, according to a leaked two-year roadmap.

The BlackBerry maker will debut a 4G PlayBook tablet in late 2012, reports BlackBerryOS.

RIM's next-generation BlackBerry 10 operating system was originally slated for release around the same time, but the company last week announced the endeavour had proven more time consuming than expected, pushing back the release to early 2013.

It will launch two new smartphones in the first quarter of 2013 alongside the BB10 debut, including the "London" touchscreen smartphone and the "Nevada" QWERTY-toting handset.

The document states the 4G PlayBook will be updated with BB10 when the OS is released.

Also in line for 2013 is the rumoured 10in PlayBook tablet codenamed "Blackforest", as well as two unspecified devices with codenames "Nashville" and "Naples".
