Western Digital has appointed device manufacturer and distributor Leader Computers to distribute its HGST and G-Technology branded storage products in Australia.
The agreement, which includes the complete range of HGST and G-Technology products, sees Leader join Avnet as Western Digital's second Australian distributor.
HGST provides enterprise-grade hard disk and solid-state drives for data centres, mobile hdds, external storage solutions and non-RAID drive architectures, while G-Technology produces external storage solutions for consumers and content creators with a need for backup and storage.
Raman Yeung, HGST Asia Pacific channel business managing director, said the partnership was an exciting opportunity as his company expanded its Australian distribution network to support demand for high-capacity storage.
“By leveraging Leader Computers’ in-depth understanding of the local market and extensive Australia-wide network, we are positioned to grow our customer base and strengthen our company position in Australia,” he said.
Leader Computers managing director Theo Kristoris said the deal was a great opportunity to grow its product offering and build partner relationships.
“Working with Western Digital will enable us to help strengthen its local footprint while ensuring that our customers’ storage needs are satisfied.”
