Lako takes Ziova into homes
Digital home products distributor Lako Pacific has signed on to distribute the Australian-developed range of Ziova network media players nationally.

Ziova – formerly Zensonic – is the Australian company which designed and developed the High Definition Media Interface (HDMI) network media player, a device that wirelessly streams digital audio and video content from the home PC and broadband service to a home entertainment centre.

Melbourne-based Lako Pacific has selected ZIOVA for its line-up of leading convergence products to fulfil its mission of bringing digital home devices into the mainstream.

The company has more than 3000 resellers including big names such as Harvey Norman, Dick Smith Electronics, Harris Technology, Myer, Teds Camera, Camera House stores, Officeworks, Retravision and The Good Guys.

Lako Pacific will initially go to market with two ZIOVA network media players; the Clearstream CS505 ($599), which has a built-in DVD player, and the Clearstream CS510 ($499).

Evan Kourambas CEO at Lako Pacific said the digital home entertainment segment was still in its early days.

“Most houses with broadband and more than one computer have the WiFi network required to set up the ‘digital home’,” he said. “ZIOVA’s Clearstream media players are best of breed. With a Ziova Clearstream connected to a home entertainment system.
