The company, which offers multi-functional digital imaging solutions, invited the newly appointed leader of the Liberal Party to its Canberra leg of its tour to examine the role of innovation in Australian organisations.
According to John Venett, national marketing manager at Konica Minolta (pictured), the company has gone on tour with the program visiting Sydney, Parramatta, Glen Waverley, Melbourne and Brisbane.
Next stop is Canberra tomorrow and Perth on Thursday.
Venett said the reason behind the Innovation: Mind the Gap series was to uncover the links in Australian organisations between innovation and productivity and/or increased profitability.
“We are hoping to drive the message that Konica Minolta is an innovator in terms of products and services that we provide,” he said.
He said the firm contacted the MP because he is passionate when he speaks about innovation in Australia and international business.
“We don’t know what level of media interest to expect but Mr Turnbull is a high profile politician and this will be his first public appearance since returning from holiday,” Venett added.
The seminars are part of Konica Minolta’s thought leadership program Life In Colour which explores insights and ideas to help businesses identify and close the gaps in office innovation – workplace, people and technology.
