Kennards offers Australians world's fastest fibre optic cable fusion splicer

Kennards Hire Test & Measure business is offering in Australia what it claims is the world’s fastest optical fibre cable ARC fusion splicer.

Called the Fujikura 70S, the device is used to attach two pieces of optic fibre in seven seconds, with a 14 second shrink time.

The device is rated for drops of 30 inches, and designed for use in wind, rain, and dust, while the carry case turns into a small table for splicing.

Other features include a tube heater for faster splicing cycles and an electrode rated to 3,000 splices per set. The device has an LCD monitor and built-in training videos. The battery is rated to 200 splices/shrinks per charge.
