Application delivery software vendor Kemp has hired Tony Sandberg as its regional director for Asia-Pacific, with immediate responsibility of expanding the business in Australia and New Zealand.
Sandberg brings more than two decades of experience in the channel to the role. Prior to joining Kemp, he was director of solutions and industry marketing for Polycom, and held various positions in Singapore and Europe with Ericsson for 10 years.
“I see great opportunities for Kemp’s growth in the region and the one I’m looking forward to most is bringing our metered licensing model to show future customers in Australia/ New Zealand that there is a way out of the F5 lock-in," Sandberg said.
“Their per-site load balancing model is dead and customers don’t need to buy lots and lots of redundant equipment years in advance.”
According to his LinkedIn profile, Sandberg joined Kemp back in July last year, around the same time that former ANZ regional director Luke Holland left to join Solista as account director.
A month prior to Holland's departure, Kemp signed a distribution deal with Ingram Micro. Holland said at the time that Kemp had identified opportunities in federal government, service providers and retail in addition to its existing enterprise customer base.
