Intel Australia country manager VR Rajkumar exits after nearly 20 years

Intel’s Australian and New Zealand country manager, VR “Raj” Rajkumar, has left the company after almost 20 years.

His last day at Intel was on 3 May. CRN understands the company has been working to hand over his responsibilities over the past few weeks.

Rajkumar joined the vendor back in 2000 in India, before moving to the Australian business in 2005, where he was charged with managing Intel’s channel partners and sales team as ANZ distribution manager.

In 2012, he was appointed to the channel sales director role, and in 2016 became the regional sales director for Australia and New Zealand.

In July last year, Rajkumar stepped in as country manager for Australia and New Zealand, replacing former managing director Kate Burleigh, who went on to join Amazon as country manager for Alexa Skills.

He told CRN that he would take a short break before taking on any new roles.

"I was so fortunate to manage Australia and New Zealand and was the first to see their can-do attitude, the competitive spirit to try new things, innovate consisently and lead the rest of the world by punching above their weights,” Rajkumar told CRN.

“I have to admit that in my 13-year association with the Australian & New Zealand customers, many ideas, products and programs have been generated out of here and scaled in Asia-pacific and globally. 

“I would like to take this opportunity to share my sincere appreciation and gratitude to all our distributors, channels, customers, colleagues and the Industry friends for making my journey a memorable one.”
