Ingram Micro resellers will have access to the full range of IBM point-of-sale (POS) solutions through TechLink or by calling the ‘imrapt’ team.
Aleks Stanojevic, RSS channel business development manager at IBM said: “Ingram Micro brings a wonderful mix between knowledge of the IT market space and the ability to provide specialised solutions to point-of-sale and IT resellers.”
According to Stanojevic, the agreement builds on the existing relationship between Ingram Micro and IBM. He added that the move will also elevate the profile of Ingram as a leading local distributor.
“Mixed with the already impressive list of products currently available from Ingram Micro means that Ingram Micro will continue to offer a compelling choice when choosing a distributor,” he said.
The product suite includes SurePOS 300 Express and SurePOS 500 Express bundles, which feature cash-drawer, receipt printer, integrated customer display, monitor and the retail hardened terminal.
Linda Pifat, business manager at Ingram Micro said: “Ingram Micro has been offering point of sale solutions to resellers for over a year, and with the addition of IBM RSS, Ingram Micro is able to offer even more choices of complete end-to-end solutions”.
imrapt was formed last year to expand the distributor’s retail presence and offer products from six vendors: Cherry, Datalogic, MYOB, NCR, Printronix and Toshiba TEC, as well as security devices from SonicWall and networking and mobility infrastructure from D-Link.
