Ingram Micro has brought in new leadership appointments for its enterprise hardware business.
The distributor hired former Avnet (now Tech Data) executive Darryl Tucker to head the HPE business and former Seagate senior manager Caleb Leung to run both the IBM and Lenovo businesses.
Tucker joins Ingram after two years heading up his own consultancy firm TUX Group and more than a decade with Avnet Technology Solutions.
“We are thrilled to have Darryl on board to manage our HPE business unit,” Ingram Micro senior general manager of vendor management John Brown said.
“Darryl brings a wealth of industry experience having held various leadership roles in distribution.”
Meanwhile, Leung returns to Ingram Micro after departing in 2005, when he worked as a senior product manager starting in 2000. He also had a six-year stint at AMD before joining Seagate, where he was in charge of channel and distributions for ANZ, Malaysia, Indonesia and Thailand.
“Caleb has held various product management and leadership roles and has considerable experience in working with Lenovo”, Brown said.
“These new appointments bring a great deal of value to customers and suppliers and enable us to further drive the value-added offerings Ingram Micro offer to the Australian market (for example, education and training, lifecycle services, commercial fulfillment, and innovative financial solutions like ITaaS (Ingram Technology-as-a-Service).”
“These new recruits reinforce our commitment to the Australian IT channel,” Ingram Micro chief country executive Felix Wong said.
“At the end of the day, a company’s ability to drive value to its customers lies with its people”.
