Ingram Micro has entered into a new software distribution agreement with IBM Australia to couple with its existing hardware deal.
The distributor will focus on IBM's software-defined storage, security and mobility, hybrid cloud, social platforms, analytics and cognitive solutions — giving its channel partners full access to IBM’s portfolio.
“IBM software is a natural addition to our broad solution-based portfolio here at Ingram Micro,” Ingram Micro chief country executive for ANZ Felix Wong said.
“It is an exciting time for software as connectivity to the internet of things comes to the fore in developers’ solutions.”
He added that IBM’s cloud and AI solutions would help customers’ data better work for them by adding the full suite of end-to-end IBM solutions to Ingram Micro.
The full range of IBM’s products are available now and channel partners can access them through Ingram Micro’s licensing desk, IBM Team and via the Ingram Micro Cloud Marketplace.
Ingram Micro Training will work with channel partners to train and deploy the software as well.
“IBM recognises the value that Ingram Micro brings as an IBM value add distributor and we are pleased that Ingram Micro can now offer the complete set of IBM systems and software offerings to its growing ecosystem,” IBM Australia and New Zealand general manager for global business partners Nigel Peach said.
“The combination of the core Ingram distribution capabilities and the Ingram Cloud Marketplace offers IBM a very large ecosystem of VARs, ISVs MSP/CSPs and other next generation IBM business partners to reach new IBM markets and new clients for IBM offerings.”
