Impact Office Space Mate comes with; PSU; Intel Atom 330 dual core processor; Intel 945GC chipset; 2GB DDR2 RAM; 80GB SATA HDD; Slimline DVD writer; 10/100 LAN; video and HD sound; keyboard and mouse; Windows XP Professional; 1x Serial; and 1x parallel Port + 4x USB.
The product is available to resellers for $799, excluding GST.
In an interview with CRN, Peter Agamalis, senior channel manager at Impact Systems, said, the distributor was involved with the research and development of the product.
"The chassis eliminates desktop space," he said.
"It comes with an LCD screen attached and is attached to a stand.
"The stand allows for height adjustment."
Agamalis said Impact felt the need to develop the product, because there were only a handful of tier one vendors offering such an OEM product.
He believes resellers can take this product to any market vertical because of the space saving aspect.
"We can populate the product with almost any configuration a reseller wants," said Agamalis.
"It's not proprietary so resellers can upgrade or change the configuration they want."
"We have seen a niche for such a product, particularly in the government and education sector, where we have a small footprint."
Impact Systems has also moved into the next phase of its managed services tool project, said Agamalis.
In early February, he told CRN, resellers needed to get into managed service, especially at a time when selling one-off hardware and software products is no longer enough.
To help resellers clarify what managed services entailed, the distributor was working on a set of applications to help resellers calculate the pricing of PC hardware, SaaS management and other service calculations they need to keep on top of.
Agamalis said Impact has signed on TriActive as distributor for the applications.
"This is the next phase of the managed services tool application for resellers," he said.
"Tri-Active will attach the tool to managed services offerings for resellers."
"This will be a combination of hardware and software for partners. This will enable them to gain new sales opportunities in the current economic climate."
Agamalis said the distributor expects to wrap up the final phase of the managed services tool within the next three months.
