iiNet wins South Australia private cloud deal

Internode, a subsidiary of iiNet, has clinched an infrastructure-as-a-service contract with the South Australian government.

Internode will deliver its "SA gCloud" service to the departments of Premier and Cabinet (DPC), Planning, Transport and Infrastructure (DPTI) and Communities and Social Inclusion (DCSI).

The company expects more agencies in the state to sign up.

The ISP won the deal after the state government sought tenders from providers on its whole-of-government Hosting Services Panel. Internode already has a two-decades long history supplying services to the state government.

The government will use a dedicated hardware platform hosted in Adelaide and contained within the state’s central data network.

The South Australian government hailed the deal as good news for taxpayers.

Internode was selected along with Amcom and AAPT late last year to be the suppliers from which South Australian government agencies will pick from for data services.
