Industry veteran Ian McLean has emerged as the new managing director of consumer network products company Belkin.
He leaves his position as country manager of storage vendor Seagate while outgoing managing director of Belkin ANZ Patrick Domingue is returning to the US to take a new role within Belkin.
Prior to joining Seagate McLean spent 10 years as the local managing director of US networking solutions company Netgear, a rival to Belkin in certain markets.
Belkin also announced the appointment of former Samsung Electronics TV marketing manager Brendan Sparks as its local head of marketing and product development.
The company’s vice president for Asia Alan Sparks said McLean and Brendan Sparks were “high quality candidates …. that would take the already successful business we have in ANZ to a new level”.
“We are looking to grow our business by way of creating profitable growth for our business partners and adding complimentary categories to the portfolio of products we have today,” Alan Sparks said.
“This will enable us to further strengthen the Belkin brand in ANZ where it is already a household name.”
Alan Sparks and Brendan Sparks are not related.
