HTC launches 4G smartphone in Oz

HTC has become the first smartphone vendor to launch a 4G handset in Australia, today announcing the Velocity 4G will hit stores from Tuesday next week.

In partnership with Telstra, the 4.5 inch touchscreen, 1.5 GHz dual core processor and 8 megapixel camera-toting phone will be available for pre-order online from today via the Telstra website. 

It will retail for business customers on the $0 upfront $90 Business Mobile Advantage Member Plan, and for consumer customers on the $79 Freedom Connect Plan.

The handset will be sold through JB HiFi, Phone Zone and Telstra stores.
