Hitachi Data Systems has shaken up its Australian channel team with a handful of new appointments and hires.
First off is Tim Moodie, who joins as the new channel marketing manager. Moodie was previously a marketing executive at Ingram Micro for 19 months. He has also held marketing positions at NTT Communications and Data#3.
HDS' former channel marketing manager Ed Daven has been promoted to distribution manager for ANZ after three years in the marketing role. He will be responsible for managing relationships with the vendor's local distributors Avnet and Lynx Technologies.
Former distribution manager Matt Wilson has been promoted to strategic partner manager for NSW and New Zealand, where he will focus on developing go-to-market strategies with specialist consultants, systems integrators and cloud providers in the regions.
Last but not least is Mark Edwards, who has moved to a new role in alliance and cloud service provider partner management. He will be developing IoT solutions and partnerships within the broad Hitachi Group.
Industry and alliances solutions director Phil Teague said the vendor was moving towards a "solutions-centric sell" where it needed to "forge new alliances and ecosystems with alliance and channel partners".
"Tim, Ed, Matt and Mark hold critical support roles that enable our partners to leverage our full breadth of solutions and to successfully build their business with Hitachi Data Systems,” he said.
The data storage vendor has already made two key hires this year to bolster its Australian business.
In January, former HPE general manager Paul Shaw was hired as the new sales director for the northern region to focus on enterprise IT solutions and to educate partners on IoT opportunities.
HDS hired another former HPE staffer this month, with Tony Whigham joining as government sales director. He will be responsible for growing federal and state government accounts as well as develop new areas of collaboration based in Canberra.
