ASX-listed distributor Hills' former business development manager Jourdan Garde has returned to expand the company's enterprise security business as general manager for growth markets security, surveillance and IT.
In his new role, Garde will be responsible for developing sales opportunities with channels as part of Hills' strategy to nab "big ticket projects".
Garde returns to Hills after 16 months working as a business development manager for IP security vendor Genetec, which partners with Hills for distribution. He joined Hills in 2014 and left to join Genetec in June 2016.
Hills also announced the appointment of pre-sales support engineer Horst Kubsch, who brings 30 years of experience in electronic security to the role. He will focus on developing Hills' pre-sales capabilities and utilise his experience in system design to facilitate purpose built projects.
Hills chief executive David Lenz said the appointments would help the distributor in targeting its key verticals of health, education, banking and government infrastructure.
“With industry expertise, broad capabilities and a unique product portfolio, Hills is ideally positioned to deliver integrated solutions. Partnering with leading global technology providers like Genetec, we can create true turn-key offerings for enterprise and infrastructure projects,” he said.
Hills head of sales for security, surveillance and IT Bill Sakellariou said the two hires would boost the company's purpose-built security solutions.
“We’re growing our pre-sales capabilities and leveraging the skills of the best people in the industry, to ensure we can create custom solutions and tailored outcomes to consultants and end-users across Australia and New Zealand,” he added.
Hills identified physical security as one of its high-margin target verticals as part of its ongoing growth strategy, along with audio-visual and health solutions.
