Former senior Juniper figure Mark Ablett has reappeared in a high-ranking role as Asia Pacific senior vice president and general manager at storage giant HDS.

Ablett was a senior local figure at Juniper, with his appointment as vice president of the vendor’s south Asia region encompassing Australia, New Zealand and ASEAN announced in July last year.

CRN understands Ablett left Juniper in December last year, having joined the networking vendor in 2008.

The major appointment follows several key personnel changes at HDS locally in the last 12 months. In October HDS lured Dell’s former local director of infrastructure consulting services Kiwa Stevenson to head up services from Sydney.

A promotion saw Andrew McGee move into the role of Australia and New Zealand chief technology officer in June. Adrian De Luca moved into the role of Asia Pacific CTO.

Meanwhile, Neville Vincent vacates the Asia Pacific senior vice president and general manager chair to focus on expanding the firm’s global systems integrator business.

Ablett joins a company that saw its channel grow by 30 percent in the year to October. The vendor named its first annual local partner award winners late last year. HDS also partnered with Avnet last year to launch a white label cloud service.
