Dell figure takes key role at Hitachi Data Systems

The former director of Dell’s local infrastructure and cloud computing business unit has taken a key role leading Hitachi Data Systems’ local services activities.

Kiwa Stevenson spent five years at Dell, in the role of director of Infrastructure Consulting Services for Australia & New Zealand.

He was responsible for transforming Dell services capability to a “mature infrastructure consulting, integration and managed services practice”, according to a statement from HDS.

His new role at HDS is director of services, Australia and New Zealand. Stevenson will support key channel partnerships and assist HDS customers with big data, public, private and hybrid cloud.

Stevenson will be based in Sydney and will report to Neil Evans, Australia and New Zealand regional vice president and general manager.

The new hiring follows the appointment of Andrew McGee as local chief technology officer at HDS earlier this year.

HDS has strengthened its channel ties this year with a white-labelled cloud product offered through Avnet.
