Grant Thornton has appointed Douglas Foster as a partner in its Cyber Resilience team, based in Sydney.
Foster brings 25 years of experience across cyber operations, advisory and incident response, having previously held such roles as MD, Principal and national cyber defence advisory leader at Deloitte, senior cyber advisor and GTM lead at CyberCX and CISO at Secureworks.
He will work alongside Kate Monckton, partner and national head of Cyber Resilience, with a focus on growing Grant Thornton's managed services and incident response offering.
"It's an exciting time to be joining Grant Thornton," Foster said.
"Cyber resilience depends on seeing threats as they emerge, adapting as organisations and their technology change, withstanding attacks, responding quickly and recovering effectively when an incident occurs. That's what we're building here, and it's how we'll help clients manage cyber risk day to day."
Monckton said clients were increasingly seeking practical, ongoing capability rather than point-in-time advisory engagements.
"Douglas brings deep cyber security and cyber defence experience that will help us expand our managed services and incident response capabilities," she said.
"His experience and leadership complement our existing advisory offering and strengthen our ability to support clients across the full cyber resilience lifecycle."
In August, it was announced that Grant Thornton Australia will join the Grant Thornton Advisors multinational platform in a move that aimed to unlock the potential to ramp up M&A activity in the technology space.
