Global SAP partner BackOffice Associates is looking for an Australian country manager after moving into a larger Australian office in Sydney last week.
The US-based company, which counts the likes of Dow Chemical Company, Eli Lilly and Maersk as customers, is also hoping to be able to partner with more local SAP partners, according to CEO David Booth.
The company has 27 employees in Australia and has Presence of IT, UXC Oxygen, Vesta and Litmus Group as partners here. It is currently working on an SAP migration contract for Transport NSW.
"We're looking for more of those local partnerships," said Booth.
He said that key industries like mining and retail in Australia aligned well with BackOffice Associates' business, while the Australian economy was another factor.
"Australia is arguably the most mature economy in Asia, it's a very established market," Booth said.
As well as being an SAP value-added reseller in Australia, BackOffice Associates implements its own products; in many cases it looks to partner on projects with other service providers that have complementary skills.
The company is also an SAP solution extension partner, meaning that certain BackOffice Associates products are resold and supported by SAP.
"They are reselling our software now. Our software is on their price list," said Booth.
BackOffice Associates headquarters are in Massachusetts and the company has offices in Europe, Asia, India, Canada, Dubai and Mexico.
The company's products are designed to assist in data quality and data migration and governance. The company also has a subsidiary focussed on enterprise performance management called CPM Consulting.
The company's Asia Pacific Japan CEO, Krish Datta, was previously president of SAP South East Asia.
Booth has also held several high-ranking roles at HP and Compaq, including CEO of Compaq Canada. He was also president of global sales and marketing at service provider CSC.
