Former Oracle Australia boss Ian White has taken on leadership of software vendor BMC as country manager for Australia and New Zealand.

White worked for Oracle for 20 years prior to his departure in 2013, with the last eight as regional managing director for ANZ. During his time at Oracle, White led a number of high-profile deployments including a core banking replacement project for National Australia Bank, Department of Immigration and Citizenship’s Systems for People Initiative and the Australian Taxation Office’s legacy system replacement.

White popped back up at SaaS quote-to-cash provider Apttus in 2015, overseeing its APJ operations until 2018. He was also chairman of PrimeQ before the Adelaide Oracle specialist was bought by Accenture in late 2018.

“I am very excited to join BMC at such a critical stage in the company’s growth both locally and globally, as we continue to expand the solutions we offer,” said White.

“Having witnessed the strength of BMC’s solutions and services over the years through some of their strategic partnerships, I am excited to join the team to support our customers to innovate and transform their digital operations. I’m looking forward to working with our Australia and New Zealand customers to help extend their ongoing business transformation.”

White’s appointment comes fresh off the heels of another major hire in Brenton Smith as vice president for Asia-Pacific and Japan in May.

BMC provides software that helps businesses organise their tech support functions. The vendor was acquired by Investment firm KKR in May last year, which also owns MYOB.
