Former head of Oracle Australia Ian White has landed a new position as Australian managing director for Salesforce partner Apttus, following an 18-month sabbatical.
White left Oracle in 2013 after 20 years with the software giant and over eight years as managing director for Australia and New Zealand. He was replaced by former SAP executive Tim Ebbeck.
“I had a great career at Oracle working with a large enterprise, but having left Oracle I wanted to do something different,” said White.
White will head up Apttus while it prepares for an imminent launch in Australia. No official date for the launch has been given, but White told CRN a number of partners have already signed up.
Based in the US, Apttus delivers enterprise class software-as-a-service applications that address the 'quote-to-cash' business process, with emphasis on fully integrated configure price quote and contract lifecycle management applications.
“I was looking at where the market was heading and I saw enterprise cloud software was where the market was going. I was also looking for a company that wanted to expand into Australia and New Zealand, so I was very excited when this opportunity came up.”
According to sister publication iTnews, White was well regarded by Oracle customers during his tenure, and led the vendor during a number of high-profile projects, including a core banking replacement project for National Australia Bank, Department of Immigration and Citizenship’s Systems for People Initiative and the Australian Taxation Office’s legacy system replacement.
