Mobile payment startup Clipp has appointed former Microsoft executive Todd Forest as chief executive.
Forest, who held senior positions at multiple Microsoft divisions, including Ninemsn, MSN and Bing, said: “I join Clipp at a time when the mobile payments space is beginning to heat up. Clipp is at the forefront of the industry in Australia, proven by the rapid uptake of our proprietary technology in the last six months alone.”
The Sydney-based company’s mobile app allows users to pay for food and drink tabs with their smartphone. In 2014, it has expanded to over 270 venues across Australia.
Clipp chairmain Greg Taylor said he was thrilled to have Forest onboard.
“Aside from being one of the best digital executives, Todd is incredibly passionate about startups and I can’t wait to work closely with him to take Clipp to the next level.”
