Sydney-headquartered MSP First Focus has acquired Adelaide-based firm Enee to add new software capabilities and services.
Founded in 2010 by Kosta Haltis, Enee is a Microsoft partner offering app and software development, IT services and cloud services.
First Focus CEO Ross Sardi said the acquisition will "significantly boost our software development capabilities, allowing us to grow our offering in that space."
"MSPs have traditionally stayed away from software development, however the lines between traditional IT, app integration and app development are now increasingly blurred."
"Businesses need to leverage off-the-shelf and custom software to their fullest extent to be competitive, and we want to be at the forefront of delivering these services to small and midsize businesses."
The acquisition also helps First Focus gain a foothold in South Australia, where it is targeting growth.
“This partnership aligns perfectly with our strategic goals and our commitment to growth within the South Australian market," Sardi said.
"Having a SA office represents an exciting new chapter for us as we now have an office in every major Australian centre.”
The acquisition is the third this financial year for First Focus and seventh since the firm's establishment in 2003. Its most recent purchase was Melbourne-based Rock IT in December 2023.
First Focus also previously acquired Brisbane MSPs Ordyss, eStorm and EnactMSP, Melbourne IP communications specialist Flexnet and Sydney networking, cloud and unified communications firm The Specializt.
First Focus will absorb Enee's team, increasing its headcount to over 300 staff located in Australia, New Zealand, the Philippines, Ireland and South Africa.
Haltis will take on the role of head of software development at First Focus.
"I’m really excited and I’m excited for my team to join First Focus," he said.
"It represents a significant opportunity for us to scale our services and reach, to do what we have always done well, but to now do it at scale."
