Commvault signs multi-year partnership with Microsoft

Commvault has signed a multi-year strategic partnership with Microsoft that will see its cyber resilience and data protection capabilities offered as a native ISV service on Microsoft Azure.

Under the agreement, Azure customers will be able to discover, provision and integrate Commvault's resilience tools directly from the Azure platform - covering data recovery, application restoration and identity recovery in the event of a cyberattack, outage or human error.

Commvault said the arrangement eliminates the need for separate infrastructure, manual integrations or external tooling.

Customers will also be able to purchase Commvault Cloud through the Microsoft Marketplace and apply spend toward their Microsoft Azure Consumption Commitment (MACC), aligning resilience costs with broader cloud budgets.

The two companies said they would collaborate on joint go-to-market activity, including co-selling and integrated sales motions. Commvault's native service on Azure is expected to enter public preview this northern-hemisphere summer.
