F5 Networks appoints Australian boss
Rob Malkin

Former Autodesk sales director Rob Malkin has been appointed F5 Networks country manager for Australia.

Malkin will be based in Sydney. With his appointment F5 Networks expects to strengthen its position in Australia.

Previously to Malkin, Robert Pizzari was the country manager for the region. Malkin told CRN he was unable to comment on Pizzari's role, but said he is now based in Singapore and is still part of F5 Networks.

Malkin said he will focus on how applications have been used, especially the numbers being used by government and banks, and look at the industries F5 can potentially serve.

According to F5 Networks the company is updating its security posture to cover all points of exposure on applications.

Malkin joins F5 Networks with 17 years' experience in cloud and hybrid technologies, sales, services and channel sales development.

His first role in Australia was of sales director architecture, engineering, construction and infrastructure Asia-Pacific with Autodesk in 2008. In 2015 he was promoted to sales director manufacturing in Asia-Pacific.

He joined Aconex briefly as sales director in June leaving in July to join F5 Networks.

He had previously worked for PWC and Oracle in the US.
