Melbourne-based reseller NGage Technology Group has hired Jason Smith as its chief information officer and head of client engagement.
In his new role, Smith will be responsible for the overseeing and transforming the delivery arm of NGage, which includes pre-sales, managed services, professional services, project office and the cloud business.
He will also be working with NGage’s sales team and reviewing NGage’s partner model.
Prior to joining NGage, Smith was a business development manager for Brennan IT working in the managed services and cloud business for a year. He was also an IT project manager for Southern Cross Computer Systems for five years before moving to a business development manager for managed services.
He was also an IT manager for Melbourne’s Monash University.
“What’s refreshing is I’m coming into something that’s a bit left of field. Being able to build and define the best practices for a business is really refreshing,” said Smith.
“I’ll be looking at what our managed service offering is and allowing the sales team to use tools to articulate what clients want.”
Smith already has a number of projects in the pipeline at NGage. He will be involved in fitting out the new network operations centre in Melbourne, which provides customer service and support. Smith will also be exploring NGage’s cloud partner model and is expected to partner with a major cloud provider soon.
Founded in 2011, NGage has repeatedly proved itself one of the fastest-growing solutions providers in the Australian channel. The company came in at No.1 in the 2013 CRN Fast50, No.2 in 2014 and No.9 in 2015.
