Australian managed services provider efex has acquired Compusult, a Shepparton based MSP servicing organisations across regional Victoria (primarily the Goulburn Valley).

Founded in 1996 by MD Brad Smith, Compusult delivers managed IT services, cloud solutions, cybersecurity, Virtual CIO and helpdesk support, with a strong focus on regional and rural customers.

Compusult will retain its existing team, with Smith remaining in a leadership role to support continuity and growth.

efex founder and CEO Nick Sheehan said Compusult’s regional focus and customer centric approach made it a strong strategic fit.

“Compusult has built a trusted reputation over nearly three decades by delivering reliable, practical IT services to regional businesses,” Sheehan said.

“They share efex’s philosophy of keeping IT simple and effective for customers. This acquisition builds on our already strong branch network, adding a high-capability, high-growth business in the heart of the Goulburn Valley - an area where we already have a strong presence in Shepparton.”

Smith said joining efex would provide new opportunities for both customers and staff.

“Our priority has always been to provide enterprise grade IT solutions that are accessible and practical for small and medium businesses,” Smith said.

“Becoming part of efex gives our clients access to broader services, deeper cybersecurity expertise and national resources, while allowing our team to continue delivering the personalised, local support our customers value.”

Sheehan told techpartner.news last year that following the sale of a majority stake in efex to private equity firm Advent Partners, the company is going to go “even harder and faster” with M&A, enabled by a "much bigger balance sheet".

Over the last decade, efex’s acquisitions reached double digits, including PanaquipThink Office TechnologyCloud Copy ClickBMS GroupLogic PlusIn Touch Office TechnologyAish ITWorldMark Corporate ConsultingWyscomMedihost Solutions and, most recently, Datcom.
