efex, one of Australia's largest regional managed IT services company, has acquired WorldMark Corporate Consulting, a Geelong-based firm that specialises in private cloud and infrastructure services.
The move is efex's sixth acquisition of a Victorian regional business in the past five years, boosting its presence in the state's second-largest city.
The acquisition will add approximately 200 new clients to efex's portfolio, increasing its Victorian clientele by over 10 per cent.
WorldMark was founded by Adam Galle in 1997 and has built a strong reputation for its expertise in cloud consulting and infrastructure services, particularly in the medical services sector.
"This acquisition aligns seamlessly with our growth strategy for 2024, as we continue to strengthen our presence across Victoria and deliver high-quality IT solutions to more regional businesses," Nick Sheehan, chief executive of efex, said.
WorldMark will gain access to efex's extensive suite of IT services, including its recently launched Managed Cyber solutions, designed to enhance cybersecurity for SMEs.
Meanwhile, efex will benefit from WorldMark's deep expertise across multiple sectors, particularly in navigating strict regulatory and compliance requirements of medical businesses.
"Partnering with efex enables us to provide expanded solutions to our clients, especially through access to cutting-edge managed services," Galle said.
To ensure continuity and maintain its strong local reputation, WorldMark will continue to operate under its established brand in the Geelong area.
The current leadership team, led by Adam Galle and Paul Chapman, will remain in place to oversee a smooth transition and maintain service quality.
Sheehan emphasised that this acquisition is a critical step in efex's broader strategy for growth, both organically and through targeted acquisitions.
He highlighted Victoria, and Geelong specifically, as key growth areas for the company.
In July this year, efex said it had bought Aish IT, also in Adelaide, for an undisclosed sum.
efex said provides its services to more than 6000 small to medium sized businesses currently.
