Ingram Micro has been awarded Australian Distributor of the Year for 2012 by Acer.
The award was presented to Ingram Micro by Acer's national sales manager, Amir Sinanovic, at the vendor's partner conference last week in Argentina.
Acer recognised Ingram Micro's "role in securing significant growth across the independent retail, commercial and SMB market segments in the last year", said Amir Sinanovic, Acer Australia's national sales manager for retail, channel and distribution.
The vendor has been outperforming rivals in notebook sales, according to a recent IDC report.
Upon accepting the award, Ingram Micro's senior director of Volume Technology Group, Julian Phua, recognised the important role played by resellers in the distributor's success.
“We’re delighted to receive this award, and we would like to thank both Acer and our resellers who have helped us this year.
“The team has worked really hard, and this shows in the results that they’ve seen over the past twelve months. We look forward to continuing this success next year.”
It is the first time Ingram Micro has been recognised by Acer as the Partner of the Year; however, in the last three months the distributor has won Partner of the Year awards from Microsoft, RedHat and McAfee.
