Distie NEXTGEN signs Cloudera for Australia and New Zealand

Hybrid data platform, analytics and AI company Cloudera has appointed NEXTGEN as its trusted distributor for Australia and New Zealand.

This move is to increase Cloudera's presence in the region and to enhance its ability to deliver targeted solutions to customers.

"The future of data is artificial intelligence, and this collaboration fits seamlessly into our corporate strategy of accelerating the path to AI for enterprises," Keir Garrett, Cloudera's regional vice President for ANZ said.

Garrett added that as Cloudera is NEXTGEN's sole AI and data platform vendor, they can jointly target new customers in the commercial market, offering them the same hybrid data management experience as their existing enterprise and public sector clients.

NEXTGEN's strong alignment with Amazon Web Services (AWS), Cloudera's trusted partner in cloud native data management and analytics, is expected to increase its relevance in Public Cloud.

This partnership opens up opportunities to build joint go-to-market strategies in areas such as data management and analytics, cybersecurity and backup.

 "Companies today are buying solutions, not technology, and it's no longer enough as a vendor to have the best technology," John Walters, NEXTGEN Group chief executive said. 

"This strategic partnership simplifies and accelerates the process of getting Cloudera's best of breed technology to market and provides additional ecosystem access to our customers' solutions," Walters added.

NEXTGEN specialises in best-of-breed solutions across digital enterprise and cloud, cyber security, and data management.

In April last year, distributor Tech Data announced a partnership with Cloudera, to leverage the company's real-time insights capabilities to enable enterprises to address data in motion gaps and securely manage their entire data lifecycle with greater flexibility from the edge to artificial intelligence.
