Distie appointed for mobile payments vendor

Distributor WolfStrike has been appointed as Australian mobile payment technology vendor Mint Wireless' local channel partner.

"WolfStrike is delighted to be partnering with Mint, who have an admirable track record in delivering mobile payment solutions rapidly for customers," said Ian Bailey, CEO of WolfStrike.

A statement from the vendor said that products will be supplied with the WolfStrike brand as the label.

"WolfStrike’s customers will be able to turn their iOS or Android devices into fully featured credit and debit card payment systems and accept payments anywhere, anytime," said Mint Wireless' statement.

Card chip and PIN will be made compulsory in Australia in August and in New Zealand in October – events that Mint Wireless stated are accelerating demand for its mobile payment technologies.

"MYOB is Mint's first customer to introduce the new EMV-compliant chip & PIN card reader on 7 July 2014, through its popular mobile payments solution MYOB PayDirect," stated the vendor.

Mint Wireless chief executive Robin Khuda said in an announcement to the ASX that the company has a healthy outlook after a boost from investors this year.

"Through a $10 million capital injection from our institutional investors in May 2014, Mint has ramped up the company’s sales and marketing efforts and product development initiatives," said Khuda.

"We are pleased with our achievements and momentum generated over the past three months. Mint is now well positioned to capitalise on its disruptive technologies that are driving innovation within the financial services industry."

Mint Wireless' headquarters is in Sydney, with operations also in London and Singapore.
